Tired of Losing in Hypixel BedWars? Check Out These Helpful Tips!

We all love a good game of Minecraft BedWars, especially on the popular Hypixel server. However, anyone who's played BedWars on Hypixel knows that it's very hard to win a game. So, in today's post, I will present to you a few BedWars tips that I have been using for the past several months.

Fireballs

Fireballs are very OP items in BedWars. These items look like fire charges, and they can be used for a variety of purposes, but I will mention the two best ones below:
  1. Knocking Enemies Into the Void: This is probably the best use fireballs have. Many BedWars players use wool to bridge to other islands, since it only costs 4 iron ingots for 16 wool. However, wool's biggest weakness is its flammability and extremely low blast resistance, meaning it is no match for fireballs. When you see an enemy player approaching, quickly throw a fireball at them. Try to aim for slightly behind the player (assuming you are calling the direction they are bridging 'forward') to explode as much of the bridge as possible while reducing the chances of the player block clutching and thus surviving.
  2. Jumping: Something that several BedWars players seem to not know is that it's possible to use fireballs to jump long distances. Just look down at the ground you're standing on and right click while holding a fireball, and it should launch you up. Be careful when you do this though, especially if your bed has already been destroyed, as fireball explosions can be quite powerful and may kill you if your health is low.
Keep in mind that fireballs are quite expensive, costing 40 iron ingots, so only use one if you actually need it.

Don't Rush Other Teams

This is something that a large number of BedWars players don't know.

I don't know how many times I've joined a game of BedWars just to see my teammates attempt to rush the other teams with almost no gear, and even worse, leaving the bed unprotected. Always prioritize your bed, never try to rush the other teams. Once you have a decent bed defense set up, you can start heading to enemy bases.

Never Try to Play Against a Party

I'll get straight to the point: if you join a game of BedWars and you suspect you might be playing against a party, just leave the game and join a new one.

You are probably wondering why. Allow me to explain.

In Hypixel, a party is a system that allows a group of friends to easily play games together, including BedWars among many others. If a group of 2 - 4 players is in a party, all players in the party will be placed in the same team in BedWars. This may seem like it won't affect you, but usually players who are in a party are pros at the game and can destroy your bed (and eliminate you and your team) almost instantly. So, unless you want to lose, always leave the game and join a new one if you suspect you are playing against a party.

How can you know if you're playing against a party?

Well, there really isn't a way to know for sure, but there are some very obvious signs you should look out for. If you see more than one player with similar skins and/or similar usernames, there is a very large chance that they are a party of pros.

For example, if you see four players who are all wearing Dream skins that are either identical or almost identical, they are likely a party.

Don't Use the /rejoin Command

According to Hypixel, the /rejoin command can be used to rejoin a game of BedWars if you get disconnected. However, what they don't mention is that if you use this command, you will be met with a "You Died" screen, even though you didn't even die. So, to avoid this issue altogether, never use the /rejoin command. If you get disconnected from the game, just join a new game instead. 

Ragequitting

Ragequitting is probably the most helpful tip in this entire post. By ragequitting, you will never be met with another "You Died" screen in BedWars ever again. Ragequitting is very good for avoiding the death message when you accidentally fall off a bridge or island, or if an enemy player is about to kill you.

To ragequit, all you need to do is quickly type /lobby or /l and hit the ENTER key. You will immediately be taken back to the Hypixel lobby as if nothing ever happened, and you will see no death message of any sort. It can be a bit hard to type the command fast enough, but after a bit of practice you'll be a pro ragequitter.

I'm aware that ragequitting does not mean you win the game. But it doesn't send a death message, so technically you didn't lose because you quit before you died.
