Five Points that Prove Santa is Real

As we approach the holiday season, stores are beginning to sell Christmas decorations, the weather is getting cooler (at least where I live), and I am now counting down days until Christmas. And we all know what happens on the night before Christmas! A certain man rides from house-to-house in a flying sleigh, delivering gifts to everybody who has been good since last Christmas, including both children and children-at-heart. And I think nearly everybody on Earth knows who I am talking about: the one and only Kris Kringle, better known as Santa Claus.

However, just like with nearly every fact on Earth, there are people who believe in Santa, and there are people who [sadly] don't. Do you remember back in Nisan last year when I wrote the first ever post on this blog? I stated in the post that this blog would be dedicated to fighting misinformation online, just as I did in my Kitty vs. Cat post, and my Truth About Russia post. And you probably can guess by now: I am going to be doing the same thing in this post. So without further ado, let's get into a few points that prove Santa exists.

#1: Mrs. Claus would not be happy if Santa didn't exist

This one is quiet obvious and straightforward. Just imagine that you've been married to (or been in a relationship with) somebody for many years, and you end up finding out that the person is all in your mind. It would definitely be a big heartbreak and you would experience a strong feeling of loss, potentially even anger. Now compare that hypothetical scenario to Mrs. Claus' and Santa Claus' marriage. They have been married for over a thousand years now, so if Mrs. Claus found out that she was married to a mythical character, she would not be very happy.

#2: Flying reindeer are entirely possible

Our next point is a lot more scientific than the others on this list. If you have ever watched the Christmas film Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, you would know that Santa's reindeer are able to fly because they regularly eat magic feed-corn which is supplied by the Winter Warlock. In the scene of the film where the Warlock showed Mrs. Claus his magic feed-corn, he apparently had no magic left in him, meaning he would had to have found the corn prior to being imprisoned, and not enchanted it himself. According to Alimentarium.org, there are currently 200 different types of corn out there, meaning it's entirely possible for one of them to be magical. Also, while 200 is a relatively small number for one of those types of corn to be enchanted, what if I told you that 283,000 seed-bearing plants exist in the world? 283,000 is a much bigger number than 200, so one of those species is definitely magic feed-corn.

#3: How else would all those presents get there?

Probably the most obvious point on the entire list. Assuming you've been good throughout last year, you most likely woke up last Christmas to a lot of gifts under the tree, as well as your stocking stuffed full  with candy or small toys. And just as the title for this point says, how else would all those presents get there if it wasn't for Santa? I do understand that there are people out there who say that the parents wake up in the middle of the night, or after the child goes to bed, and wrap the presents and then put them under the tree. But do you really think your parents would stay up all night long pretending to be someone who they aren't? Santa is not millions of parents worldwide pretending to be Santa; Santa is just being himself.

#4: You've probably seen him before

In most places, it is quite common to see Santa hanging out at many different parts of town during the holiday season. Perhaps you might have seen him at the mall, or maybe you've noticed him eating at a restaurant. If you live in the city, you might even see him just walking on the sidewalk. I know that back in Cheshvan of 5780, my dad, my older sister, and I, went to Walmart to do some shopping; when I saw Santa walking through the store. In fact, at the checkout, he even came over to where I was and he gave me two miniature Hershey's chocolate bars (I still have the wrappers to this day, four years later!). And since seeing is believing, if you ever see Santa walking through town or through the store (which you definitely will sometime in your life if you haven't already), that means he exists.

#5: "If you see it in the Sun, it's so"

On Elul 24, 5657, a girl by the name of Virginia O'Hanlon asked the writers of a newspaper called the New York Sun if Santa is real, since her dad told her that "if you see it in the Sun, it's so". In other words, if the writers of the New York Sun published an article or answered a question, every word in the article or answer is true. The writers responded to O'Hanlon's question by publishing the following words in the paper:
"Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy..."

"...he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood."

So, as O'Hanlon's dad said, if you see it in the Sun, it's so. And the answer was right there in the Sun: Santa does exist. Just take their word for it.

And there we have it: five points that prove Santa's existence. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I also hope that it helps some non-Santa-believers to start believing in him once again.

And if you still don't believe in Santa even after reading five obvious reasons why you should, why don't you just ask him for yourself? There is a website called santachatter.com where you can send Santa a message and he will reply to you. If Santa himself tells you that he's real, then I don't know why you still wouldn't believe in him.

With all that being said, I will now conclude today's post. Have a great day!
